Volunteer & Community Events
Join your local RCD for an upcoming volunteer event and become a direct part of healing the Santa Monica Mountains. We’ll also provide opportunities to connect with and care for local wildspaces. Check back often for new listings and scroll down for our full yearly calendar.
Trippet Ranch Tree Planting
We need your help to heal the wildlands of the Santa Monica Mountains.
During the Palisades Fire, we lost many previously planted oak trees within Trippet Ranch of Topanga State Park. Our team is now ready to invite volunteers back into this fragile space and begin the process of healing this invaluable woodland.

Topanga Lagoon Restoration Project Public Meeting
Help us improve public access & recreation at the Topanga Coast. Hear about the project & give feedback on the design.
Join Topanga Lagoon Restoration Project partners on Sunday, May 31st, from 1:30–3:30pm for a project update. Attendees will learn about the design progress of visitor services following the Palisades Fire, offer their perspectives, and share their personal connection to Topanga Beach & Lagoon!
The event will include family‑friendly activities and we will be serving snacks from a beloved local grocer. Spanish translation and additional accessibility services are available upon request. This meeting is being held both in-person at Pierce College in Woodland Hills as well as virtually. When you RSVP below, you will be able to choose an in-person ticket or virtual ticket.
Regular volunteer events occur throughout the year. Stay up-to-date on upcoming opportunities by regularly checking this webpage, following us on social media (@rcdsmm) or signing up for our quarterly newsletter.
