Volunteer & Community Events

Join your local RCD for an upcoming volunteer event and become a direct part of healing the Santa Monica Mountains. We’ll also provide opportunities to connect with and care for local wildspaces. Check back often for new listings and scroll down for our full yearly calendar.

Monarch Restoration Volunteer Opportunity

Help your RCD restore monarch overwintering habitat in lower Topanga State Park.

This unique volunteer event offers participants a chance to restore and ready fire impacted wild spaces for a newly established monarch butterfly population in the Santa Monica Mountains. The invasive species that are beginning to encroach this space can be tough to handle and much of this event takes place off-trail so please be aware this event may not be suitable for all volunteers.
