Our Community Resilience Department provides vital wildfire education and services to members within and beyond the district we serve. This department aims to create a more resilient landscape for all while preserving and enhancing native habitat.

Zone Zero Guidance

In September of 2025 the RCDSMM submitted a letter to the Board of Forestry expressing our concerns over aspects of the proposed Zone Zero Guidance of August 2025. Read our full letter here.

Sepulveda Basin Wildlife Reserve Wildfire Resilient Habitat Plan

With this report the RCDSMM, in collaboration with The River Project and Balance Hydrologics, hopes to improve wildfire resiliency through a combination of natural systems, restored native habitats, and defined access, to increase the ecological value of the Sepulveda Basin Wildlife Reserve while improving environmental conditions for adjacent disadvantaged communities.
