Fall Training for Environmental Educators

The RCD Education Department runs a five-week Fall Training Program for adults interested in becoming Enivornmental Educators with the RCD. The program will prepare trainees to teach basic concepts in environmental science to student groups of all ages.

The training consists of two parts. The first part is a series of weekly events in September and October. These are scheduled on Tuesdays and take place at various locations throughout the Santa Monica Mountains and Sepulveda Basin Wildlife Reserve. You can view the 2022 education program here.

The second part of your training entails student program observations and co-leads. A prior background in environmental studies is recommended, but people with other experience make excellent outdoor educators as well. If you have a genuine interest in the environment, like working with young people, enjoy being outside interpreting nature and wish to be part of a community of life-long learners, think about joining us in the fall!
